Worship @ StB's

The Church exists to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and is fully grounded in scripture with relevant, practical application for Christian living in our modern-day world. This firm foundation strengthens us spiritually and allows us to grow deeper in our faith, in our love, in our relationships, and in our ministries.
We began our journey of God is Love in September 2024. Through the liturgical year, we will learn of God's Love for us in worship as the sermons serve as a place to orient us towards Love. The worship services also reflect Love through using the lectionary, music through the hymns and the other elements of worship.

Lectors
We are inspired by the words we hear from the lectern, readings from the Bible that give meaning to our lives. The lectors are the messengers of these words at Saint Barnabas’s. They speak to us on Sundays, holy days and other worship services during the year.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is responsible for the care of the altar and its furnishings, and for the preparations of the sanctuary for worship.
Flower Guild
The Flower Guild is responsible for the flowers in the sanctuary each week as well as flowers on the campus for special occasions. The flowers are given each week by parishioners in the memory of a loved one, are then rearranged and shared with a parishioner who needs encouragement.
Lay Eucharistic Minister
A Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM), is a lay person who is trained and assists the priest in administering the sacraments of the holy eucharist, the consecrated bread and wine. They may also take the sacraments to those who are ill, or otherwise unable to attend a service.
Virtual Worship
Each service is live streamed and requires a team of people to assist with recording sound and video to bring the services to everyone. If you have experience with sound and/or video recording please join this vital ministry.
Ushers
A church usher is a person who helps ensure a smoothly running church service and who ministers to people in a variety of practical ways. The specific responsibilities of an usher vary, but the duties usually include greeting people as they arrive for the service, assisting people with special needs, and collecting the offering.
