Property Care Ministry

The original Saint Barnabas property dates to 1888, when the Beebe family constructed the church and chapel (the former carriage house) on the current church grounds.  Over time, additional buildings were donated and even relocated from other parts of town for a total of six buildings on nearly six acres of land. For more than a century, the beauty and serenity of the St. Barnabas campus has inspired parishioners on their spiritual journey.

To care for all these gifts, the parish created a Property Care Ministry. The Property Care Ministry manages, maintains, and Ieverages the physical buildings and land as sacred assets by:

-Providing oversight on the bidding process and the contracts of the facilities and property

-Recommending capital improvements and efficiency upgrades

-Ensuring the upkeep of the historic structures

-Ensuring that the facilities meet local safety codes

The Property Care Ministry is the steward of the campus and is charged with maintaining the integrity and functionality of the buildings, its grounds, and all operating equipment.

Regular ministry meetings are typically held each month and special meetings are held on occasion to discuss and vote on timely repairs and contract bids.
