The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) ministry of Saint Barnabas’s Episcopal Church is open to all women of the church. All are welcome to participate in any of its varied activities and programs.
This ministry contributes significantly to the church and community through sponsoring, supporting or participating in an extensive range of activities throughout the year.
ECW’s main fundraising activity is the annual Christmas Fair, held the first Saturday in December in conjunction with the Falmouth Holidays by the Sea weekend. The fair is a fun, worthy event that offers a variety of ways to participate: crafters, bakers, knitters, wreath makers and many others are needed to make the fair a success. Proceeds from this event allow ECW to fund established projects which include scholarship awards to deserving high school seniors and the Salvation Army Dress-A-Live-Doll program. The Dress-A-Live-Doll program enables ECW to provide a complete ensemble of clothing and toys at Christmastime to needy children in a family.
In addition, ECW makes charitable contributions as opportunities arise within Saint Barnabas’s, the community and beyond. Some examples of church projects ECW has supported are the addition of a bathroom in the narthex of the church and a renovation of the bathrooms in the Parish Hall. Children here in Falmouth receive backpacks and school supplies through ECW participation in the Falmouth Service Center’s Fresh Start Program.
ECW is fully committed to supporting the leadership and other ministries of our church in any way needed.
